Tomas Kraśnicki's tombstone

Stryjówka | Ukraine

Burial site originally marked by a statue of St Thomas on a two-stage plinth and three-stage base. The statue on its own base, lost, stands near the gravestone. The saint depicted frontally in monastic garb. He holds a book in his left hand and raises his right hand in a gesture of blessing. On the base of the statue, on the front, the name St. Thomas is engraved //. The first step of the pedestal with chamfered upper edges, on the front an engraved inscription. The second step of the pedestal originally covered with a hipped roof, on the front a panel closed with a full overhanging arch. In it is a relief of St Catherine, wearing a long robe, cloak and crown on her head. In her left hand she holds a palm branch; to the right, by her leg, is a wheel. Below this is an engraved name: [S]t. [K]ATARZYNA //.
