Palazzo Poniatowski in Rome

Palazzo Poniatowski in Rome

Palazzo Poniatowski is the former property of Prince Stanislaw Poniatowski, nephew of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski of Poland. The prince acquired or built many estates in what is now Italy, including this one at 81 Via della Croce in Rome. The building was constructed in 1794 by the architect Giuseppe Valadier. It earned the nickname 'er grissino' because of its long, narrow shape.
