Biography:

Paweł Piotr Rhode (1871-1945), American clergyman and Polish activist of Polish descent. Born in Wejherowo, he moved with his mother to the United States in 1881. He was ordained a priest in 1894. In 1908, he became the first Polish bishop of the American Polish community. From 1915 to 1945, he was Ordinary of Green Bay. He erected 9 parishes and established 19 parochial schools.
