Piotr Kiolbasa (1837-1905), Polish Democratic Party politician and social activist, active mainly in Chicago. Treasurer and Commissioner of Public Works, he was the first Pole elected to such a position in the city. With the help of Jan Niemczewski, Jan Arkuszewski and Paweł Kurr, he formed the St. Stanislaus Kostka Fraternal Aid Society. President of the Polish-Catholic Union in America
