Biography:

Tadeusz Żukotyński (1855-1912), Polish painter, active mainly in the United States. He studied under Jan Matejko at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and under Carl von Piloty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. After his studies, he moved to the USA, where he set up a studio in Milwaukee. He painted paintings for more than 100 American churches. In 1888 he settled in Chicago, where he died in 1912.
