Biography:

Barbara Baranowska, born in 1934 in Katowice, was an artist associated with the Polish School of Poster Art. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the 1950s.

She began by designing book covers, including for Adolf Rudnicki, and later went on to create illustrations, film posters and commercial designs. Her body of work also includes projects for the French film market.

She gained the greatest recognition for her poster for the film *Possession* (1981).
