Cemetery with graves of Polish exiles from World War II

Deep in the taiga, about 150 km from Bijsk, there was a (now defunct) settlement established for Poles deported here by the NKVD during World War II. The cemetery, where the dead Polish deportees were buried, is located on a gentle hill. The graves are covered by many years' layers of fallen leaves and it is currently impossible to find them. Only 1 name of a Polish woman buried here is known - it was Halina Zaręba. The Polish part of the cemetery with the grave mounds was destroyed when the river broke the dam, the area was gradually overgrown with grass. There is no cross or monument commemorating those buried here.
