Jan Czeczot's grave is located in the cemetery in what is now the Druskininkai district: Rotnica, formerly a separate village. Czeczot was a Polish poet, ethnographer and translator. He served as secretary of the Philomath Society. He was in exile for conspiratorial activities in 1825-1841. The poet died on 23 August 1847, in Druskininkai, and was buried in Rotnica.
