Biography:

Krzysztof Zbaraski (1579-1627), son of Janusz Zbaraski and Anna Czetwertyńska, duke, crown cavalry officer, starosta of Krzemieniec and Wiślicki. He was educated at the universities of Vilnius, Cracow and Padua (under the tutelage of Galileo). With his considerable wealth, fluency in several languages and diplomatic talent, he gained a strong political position and, among others, was sent as a great deputy to the Ottoman Empire. He also became famous as a patron of the arts.
