These collections, assembled by the collector Oscar Ghez ( 1905–1998), were on display to the general public between 1968 and 1998. Today, they can be admired during temporary exhibitions at other museums, made available to the public by the Les Amis du Petit Palais Association.

The collection of Ghez, a Swiss industrialist of Tunisian-Jewish descent, was assembled in the 1950s and focused on modern art. The collector’s acquisitions included, amongst others, the iconic painting *Two Friends* by Tamara Łempicka, canvases by Mela Muter and Alicja Halicka, Eugeniusz Eibische, and portraits of Kika de Montparnasse and Jean Cocteau painted by Mojżesz Kisling.
