Cemetery with graves of Polish exiles from World War II

During the Second World War, Poles, among others, who had been deported by the NKVD from their places of residence, were forcibly settled here. Many of the deportees died from exhausting work, hunger and cold. The dead were buried in the local cemetery, which has survived to the present day. About 10 Polish graves can be found there. In 2015, the necropolis was visited by the parish priest from Bijsk, Fr A. Obuchowski, and volunteers from the FREYA Foundation in Wrocław. At that time, a small monument was erected in the cemetery to honour the Poles buried here. The inscription in Polish reads: "In this place rest Poles - exiles to the Altai country in the 1940s of the 20th century. Honour their memory !!!". An image of the Virgin Mary of the Dawn Gate is placed under the inscription.
