Edmund Ernest-Kosmowski (1900-1985), born in Warsaw, son of Stanisław and Helena (née Tyfczyńska), painter. In his youth, he was active in the scouts and served in the Polish Legions and the Polish Army. He studied law at the University of Warsaw and art at the School of Fine Arts. After graduating, he devoted himself to painting. He created mainly landscapes and portraits. After the Second World War, he settled in France, where he actively exhibited his works. From 1960, he lived in Honfleur and developed a series of paintings on children's themes. He also exhibited in the United States.
