Antoniny Palace

The residence in Antoniny was built in the 18th century on the initiative of Ignacy Malczewski. In 1897, it was rebuilt according to a design by Franciszek Arveuf in neo-Baroque style. The last owner of the estate was Józef Mikołaj Potocki, a well-known collector of works of art and guardian of the Sanguszko book collection. The palace was famous for its valuable library of some twenty thousand volumes and rich collections of paintings, porcelain and furniture. In August 1919, the residence burnt down and the rescued collections, taken to Warsaw, were destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising.

The following elements of the palace complex have survived to this day: the entrance gate with the Pilawa Potocki and Pogoń Sanguszko coats of arms, the 19th century landscape park, the cordegarden building and the stables.
