Stained glass window "Our Lady of Czestochowa" in Padua

The stained glass window 'Our Lady of Czestochowa' by Ryszard Demel was created in 1977. It is located in the crypt of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Padua (exact address: via Dietro Duomo 5). Inscribed in the tondo of a 17th-century window frame, the stained-glass window depicts the image of Our Lady of Czestochowa, against a background of a spruce forest forming the outline of the Gothic cathedral. On either side of her flowing mantle, Demel has placed red poppies - a reference to the battle of the Second Corps at Monte Cassino.

Technical data: circular stained glass
