A marble plaque commemorating the visit of Maria Skłodowska-Curie was erected at the Tettuccio thermal baths located in Montecatini Terme. This took place on the initiative of the Polish Academy of Sciences on the centenary of the Polish scientist's birth. Maria Skłodowska-Curie, together with Camillo Porlezza and Raffaello Nasini, measured the radioactivity of the water from the Tettuccio spring in August 1918.
