The museum is housed in the Palazzo Carigniano, a baroque palace once inhabited by princes. Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the United Italy, was born there. It later housed the Parliament, where the beginning of the United Kingdom of Italy was proclaimed in 1861.
Among the many exhibits on display are those related to Poland: portraits of Tadeusz Kościuszko, Prince Józef Poniatowski and Adam Mickiewicz. In addition, films screened in the museum rooms will tell you about Polish history: the partitions, uprisings, the Kościuszko Insurrection and the struggles and persecutions in the fight for independence.
