Biography:

Adam Bojanowicz (1787-1852), born in Warsaw, son of Wincenty and Katarzyna, colonel in the army of the Kingdom of Poland, topographer. In 1807, he began his military service as a second lieutenant in the Duchy of Warsaw, later promoted to captain and was adjutant to General Sułkowski. He participated in the Napoleonic Wars, including the Spanish Campaign and 1812. Taken prisoner at Leipzig in 1813, he was freed in 1814. In 1815 he transferred to the army of the Kingdom of Poland, where he was promoted to colonel in 1827. Between 1816 and 1826, he was in charge of demarcating the borders with the Free City of Cracow and Austria, as well as triangulation. He took part in the November Uprising, serving on the staffs of Generals Pac, Dziekoński and Ramorin. After the defeat of the uprising, he settled in Dresden. He received numerous decorations, including the Legion of Honour. He died in Dresden.
