Adam Szymczyk, born in 1970 in Piotrków Trybunalski, art critic and curator.

He studied art history at the University of Warsaw and began his curatorial career at the Foksal Gallery and the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. In 1997, he co-founded the Foksal Gallery Foundation. As curator of the Kunsthalle Basel, he focused on the presentation of young art. In 2008, as co-curator of the Berlin Biennale, he developed a programme entitled 'When Things Cast No Shadow'. He is also a member of the board of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
