A modernised reading of the text

The action of building the Sodalice House in Stanislawow.

On the initiative of the Marian Sodalition of Ladies, Gentlemen and Ladies Teachers, the lofty idea of building a Sodalitic House in Stanislawow arose, and intensive work began immediately. The committee was headed by Father Władysław Piechocki, superior of the Jesuits, and the party and income section, headed by Zofia Migocka, consisted of: the president of the Ladies' Teachers' Sodalition, Mrs. Genowefa Assing, the president of the Catholic Action, Mrs. Janina Jasielska, Mrs. Janina Midtown, and the prefect of the Ladies' Sodalition, Mr. Staufer.

The section proceeded to raise funds for the construction of the House. To this end, at its own expense, it published cards with a view of the House and took care of the sale of cards made by Polish painters in Cracow. In addition, it organised three tombolas and a whole series of performances, which brought in considerable income. The section also held a collection for cans and issued bric-a-brac priced from 50 gr to 5 zlotys, in order to make it easier for all strata to purchase these bric-a-brac.

Finally, it should be pointed out that, in order to realise the idea of building the House, the Committee issued an appropriate proclamation to the public to donate to the work started by the Sodalice of Stanislavl. In addition to those already mentioned, the following ladies also took an active part in the campaign to build the Sodalice House: Stefania Szumska, Zofia Dworska, R. and Mihulowiczowa, Krowicka, Emilia Kasyanowa, Kwiatkowska, Antonowiczowa, Mühlerowa and others.
