Building Polish Churches in the Borderlands

The short text presents the church-building campaign, focusing, among other things, on undertaking the further construction of the temple in Chryplin. The financial situation of the T.S.L. in Stanislawow is also mentioned, as well as the question of electing a new committee board (Source: "Wschód", Lwow 1937, no. 41, p. 1, after: Jagiellonian Digital Library).

Action to build Polish churches in the Eastern Borderlands.

The construction of a church in Chryplin, especially here, has already been initiated by the local committee. In turn, Mrs Józefa Nowemberska, treasurer of the existing Committee, reported on the work of the Board. According to this report, a plot of land measuring 434 square metres had been purchased, a cross had been made, consecrated and buried on the plot, a boundary ditch had been dug around the plot and a lot of gravel and coarse stone had been transported for the construction of the church foundations.

The cash balance for the time of the Building Committee is as follows: in 1934 it was income of 400 zloty, outgoings of 198 zloty 40 gr; in 1936 it was income of 584 zloty 10 gr, outgoings of 302 zloty 62 gr, and in 1937 it was income of 1,081 zloty 30 gr, and outgoings of 188 zloty 05 gr. The balance for 1937 is 893 zloty 25 gr. The future fate of the church to be built in Chryplin, which is to be a bastion not only of the Catholic faith, but also of Polish nationality, depends on the support of the entire borderland Polish society for this action.

In the end, a new Board of the Committee was elected, consisting of: Zofia Migocka as chairperson, Henryk Paździocha and Stanisław Szubert as deputy chairpersons, Edmund Łuczyński - secretary, Jakub Karabin - deputy secretary, Józefa Nowemberska - treasurer, Stefania Szumska - deputy treasurer, as members: councillor Marian Italski, dir. Kazimierz Firganek, Eng. Bolesław Jabłoński, Emilia Kasyanowa, Tomasz Frankiewicz, Mikołaj Sawa, H. Mihulowiczowa and E. Kasztelowiczowa. The members of the audit committee were Janina Jasielska, Janina Urokowicka and Stefan Chmura. The honorary chairman of the Committee is Rev. Młynarski.
