Cemetery of victims of pacification during World War II

On 8.04.1944 German troops invaded the village. The village was surrounded, the inhabitants, regardless of their age, were gathered in the barn. They were all shot and the barn was set on fire. The inhabitants of the Bozarana-Gumba manor and the tiny village of Gajdzie were murdered - 14 people lost their lives. An order signed by Colonel Klein cited "cooperation with Soviet partisans" as the reason for the pacification.

The dead were buried in the forest, creating a small necropolis. The cemetery consists of 6 nameless graves and a main cross with a plaque of Our Lady of the Dawn Gate. A boulder with the inscription is placed under the cross: "Here rest the remains of the Godlewski, Kislowski families and refugees from Russia murdered in 1944 by the Nazis. Peace to their souls". The cemetery is fenced with a wooden fence.
