The former College of Engineering and Mining (Escuela Especial de Ingenieros de Construcciones Civiles y de Minas del Perú), now the National University of Engineering (Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería), is located in Lima and was founded in 1876 by Edward Habich, who served as its director until 1909. Ryszard de Jaxa Malachowski took charge of the Faculty of Architecture.
