Biskupicze Górne was a Ukrainian village, where Poles made up 5% of the population. The colony of this village was Polish - it was formed from the parceling out of the Biskupicze estate, which belonged to the Kaszowskis. During the Second World War, about 20 Polish families lived on the estate. During the German occupation, the estate was under German administration.

On 11.07.1943, armed Ukrainian soldiers appeared in the village and on the estate, and deceitfully (under the pretext of having to carry out a census) murdered the Poles. According to witnesses, at least 100 people were killed in total in the village and estate, whose remains were buried in three mass graves - one of which is located on the site of the former estate, the others on the village site.

7.05.1999 r. The Association for the Commemoration of Poles Murdered in Volhynia placed three metal crosses on the graves. Two of them, 5 metres high, have the same form and were made of metal pipes. One of them bears a plaque with an inscription dedicated to all the victims from this village: 'To the 250 Poles / residents of Upper Biskupicze / who died in 1943 / in eternal memory / Compatriots'. The third cross has a different form. It was made of metal flat bars and a figure of Christ was placed at the intersection of the cross arms.

For many years, these memorials were looked after by Mrs Franciszka Prus from Włodzimierz Wołyński. In 2008 and 2011, however, members of the Association carried out repair and renovation work.
