During the battle of Dowgierdziszki on 12.10.1920, which was part of the battle for Vilnius between the troops commanded by General Żeligowski and the Lithuanians, three soldiers were killed: two Lithuanians and one Pole named Ciedzewicz. They were all buried in one grave in the school yard.

In the early 1960s, the soldiers' remains were moved to the cemetery and buried in one place, with the existing crosses and monument placed on their graves.
