Biography:

Herman Lieberman (1870-1941), studied law in Vienna. He received his doctorate from the Jagiellonian University in 1894. He was a socialist and was actively involved in the community, including initiating the construction of the Workers' House in Przemyśl. During World War I, he fought in the Polish Legions. In 1919, he was elected a member of the Legislative Sejm. From 1929 to 1939, he was a member of the Polish Socialist Party (PPS). Sentenced in the so-called Brest Trial, he was forced to leave Poland and settled in France. After the outbreak of WWII, he was Deputy Chairman of the National Council of the Republic of Poland. In 1941, he became Minister of Justice in Władysław Sikorski's government.
