Cemeteries with Polish gravestones.

Completed works:
The task included training and a field trip of 13 volunteers to supplement the already created website - www.cmentarzenalotwie.pl - with photos and data of Polish tombstones from before 1945 located in the former Inflanty. For this purpose, an application to improve the inventory called Cmentariusz was used. The website will be gradually supplemented with the results of the inventory (also made in previous years). At the same time, an algorithm has been developed to publish the data in any other existing database.

Between 2012 and 2017, the foundation started an inventory of Polish cemeteries in Latvia. The project was led by the Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Society for Academic Tradition and involved volunteers who, after training organised at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, inventoried Polish tombstones from before 1945 in the territory of Inflants.

In 2019, the first part was published on www.cmentarzenalotwie.pl. 50 cards together with photographs. Using this tool, the results of further inventory can be published. In order to improve the work of the volunteers, an app has been developed that allows the website to automatically replenish itself with further tombstone cards. The application allows the creation of a gravestone and cemetery inventory card according to a given template of inventory cards for movable monuments, the so-called white cards. The record in the application allows for a simple transfer of data to the website. The application also allows for records of tombstone locations.
