Jerzy Kowalczyk (1930-2018) - Professor of art history, an outstanding researcher of the artistic culture of the former Republic of Poland. He specialised in Renaissance and Baroque art. He worked at the Institute of Art History of the University of Warsaw and the Art Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and was editor-in-chief of the Art History Bulletin (1988-1996).
