Biography:

Jerzy Tarnowski (1882-1934), born on 17 April 1882 in Warsaw, son of Gustaw Dymitr Adam Tarnowski and Stefania Lubomirska. Legation counsellor, attaché of honour at the Polish embassy in Paris, head of diplomatic protocol at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officer of the Legion of Honour.

Jerzy Tarnowski's first wife was Maria Róża Irena Potulicka (1897-1974), daughter of Antoni Gabriel Potulicki and Stefania Jadwiga, née Wołowska; the wedding took place on 29 April 1919 in Warsaw, at St. Aleksander Parish. The marriage ended in divorce.

His second wife was Zofia Dorota Karolina Karnkowska (1878-1968), daughter of Gustaw Karnkowski and Ludwika (née Gerlicz), primo voto Bromirska; married 21 June 1930, in Madrid. Sophie's first husband was Leon Goldstand (1871-1926).

Cousin of Vincentine Sibille de Bonneval, daughter of Marie Gerlicz and Henri de Bonneval. Vincentine was married to Henri de Saignard, Marquis de La Fressange (1853-1925; married 1884, divorced 1889), and then to Robert Coppens de Fontenay (1889-1947), Counsellor of the Belgian Embassy in France (married 30 October 1899 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris).

He died on 2 March 1934 in Paris at 11bis avenue Carnot. He was buried on 8 May 1934 at the Père-Lachaise Cemetery.

Tarnowski, Legation Counsellor, Honorary Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Paris, officer of the Orders of Polonia Restituta and Legion of Honour, and Knight of many Commander's Crosses with stars [...] after a long illness fell asleep in Paris on 2 March 1934, aged 52. His body will be interred following a memorial service in the basement of St. Ferdinand Church in Paris on 5 March 1934, as notified by [...] his wife and sister".
