The parish church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Koniuszki Siemianowskie

Historical outline
The village lies at the mouth of the Błożewka River into the Strwiąż River, near the border with the former Sambork district. In 1533, the village belonged to the Koniuszeckis, and a hundred years later to the Ostrowskis of the Leliwa coat of arms (from 1628), Wojciech Aleksander Przedwojowski (from 1651). In the 18th century. Koniuszki Siemianowski was ruled by: Felicjan Ślepowron Gutowski, then the Sieniawski family, and in the 19th and 20th centuries the Lewicki family. Initially the village was subordinate to Rudki, but in 1909 a parish exposition was established on the spot, and 16 years later an independent parish, which took pastoral care of such villages as Błozew Dolna, Chłopczyce, Czernichów, Koniuszki Siemianowskie, Ostrów, Wańkowice and Zagórze.

As Jan K. Ostrowski writes in his study on the church, a chapel was built in Koniuszki Siemianowskie in 1901, but was demolished 24 years later, just before the construction of the contracted church building. The demolition materials were partly used to erect the parish church. The author of the project (most probably) was Eugeniusz Karol Czerwiński. The building was erected thanks to parish contributions. The altar was funded by Wojciech Jarzynowski, owner of Ostrów. The consecration took place in 1927. Unfortunately, in 1951, the building was demolished and the furnishings were dispersed, stolen and destroyed.

Architecture
The church in Koniuszki Siemianowskie was a brick building consisting of a chancel, nave, chapel and sacristy. A tower was probably placed on the side, while a crypt was located under the church. According to the available information, the floors were lined with stone flooring. The roof was covered with galvanised sheet metal and the steeple was made of metal. It is also known that there were three windows in the chancel and five in the nave.

Among the most important elements related to the furnishings and surroundings of the church were:

  • An altar funded by Wojciech Jarzynowski (1927) with a painting depicting the image of the Virgin Mary;
  • Bells made by the Felczyński company in 1923 (68 kg) and 1934 (165 kg).

The building no longer exists. It was demolished in 1951 and the materials were used by the communists to build a kolkhoz. No items related to the equipment could be found.
