Małgorzata Chodakowska (born 1965 in Łódź), sculptor. In 1985, she began her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, which she continued at the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Vienna from 1988. Since 1991, she has lived permanently in Dresden (Oberpoyritz district), where - in addition to working in her own atelier - she runs a vineyard together with her husband Klaus Zimmerling. She works mainly in bronze and wood. In recent years, she has been particularly fond of a series of sculptural fountains, among which one can find inspiration in the famous sculpture 'Fourteen-year-old dancer' by Edgar Degas. In addition to Germany (including Berlin, Chemnitz, Dresden, Freiberg, Leipzig, Pirna, Stuttgart), she has had a number of solo exhibitions in Austria, Denmark, Japan and Poland. She has been awarded prizes and distinctions for her sculptural realisations.

Małgorzata Chodakowska's work continues to be one of the most important Polish accents in contemporary Saxon culture. Her full-figure sculptures have become a permanent part of the public space of the state. They can be encountered in original places, not necessarily associated with the display and promotion of contemporary art. One example is the sculpture-fountain 'Girl with a leaf', located next to the large park and leisure complex Groβer Garten in Dresden.
