As part of Thursday's behind-the-scenes talks on polonics, we had the opportunity to meet a woman on special assignments who works in the field of historic preservation on a daily basis. Her speciality is the conservation of stone and architectural elements.

In a conversation with Anna Kudzia, we tried to find out the ins and outs of a conservator's daily work. Does a conservator have to be patient? Should he or she have a lot of courage, or more respect, when standing eye to eye with a work of art several hundred years old? Is conservation a creative or restorative job?
