In Recklinghausen, Werner and Dagmar Jerke opened a private museum with a collection of Polish art in 2016. The collection includes more than 600 works of Polish avant-garde art of the 1920s and Polish neo-avant-garde art after 1960. The museum will feature works by artists such as Władysław Strzemiński, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Katarzyna Kobro, Maria Jarema, Henryk Berlewi, Tadeusz Kantor, Alina Szapocznikow, Leon Tarasiewicz, Wojciech Fangor, Wilhelm Sasnal and Andrzej Wróblewski.
