Inscription (1) placed during the conservation of the gravestone in 1987.

The inscription (2), restored during the restoration work after 1987, has been noted in several sources.

In Roger, Le Champ du repos, ou le Cimetière Mont-Louis, dit du Père Delachaise, published in Paris in 1816, the inscription is found on pages 223-224 (N 623, planche XI). It reads as follows:

In the Promenade aux cimetières de Paris, published in 1820, and also in its 1825 edition, there is a similar entry:

In "Le Cimetière du Père Lachaise" by Jules Moiroux, published in Paris, a shortened version of the inscription is given: "[Le Roi lui accorda une confiance sans borne";

The signature of the stonemason who carried out the conservation was placed after the 1989 conservation.
