Madeleine Belleux, née Matyszynska (born 29 January 1877 in Laon, Aisne - died January 1932 in Villemomble, Seine-Saint-Denis) was the daughter of Maximilien Victor Matyszynska (1850-1885) and Marthe Eugénie Sapinart (1855-1932). Her grandfather on her father's side, Antoine Matyszyński, was born in 1812 in Nowy Sącz and died on 9 March 1870 in Laon, where he worked as a wine merchant. Madeleine was married on 24 August 1905 in Paris (14th arrondissement) to Maurice Justin Armand Belleux (born 20 June 1879 in Paris, died 11 May 1940 in Reims aged 61), son of Jules Louis Belleux and Françoise Armande Clémentine Louise Chapitreau. Maurice, known as 'le commandant', was a resident and municipal councillor of Villemomble. Her obituary appeared in the Journal de Saint-Denis of 30 January 1932, where she was described as the wife of Maurice Belleux. She was initially buried between 1 and 23 January 1932 in the crypt of Lecreux-Lardot in Villemomble (Seine-Saint-Denis). Then, on 17 February 1932, her remains were moved to the grave concession 187 CC 1875. The Matyszynski family had Polish roots. Antoine Matyszynski, Madeleine's grandfather, came from Nowy Sącz (Galicia) and settled in France, where the family integrated into French society. Madeleine's marriage and her activities in Villemomble are testimony to this adaptation.
