Exhibition of sculptures, paintings and prints on the occasion of the unveiling of the monument to Eliza Orzeszkowa.

In connection with the unveiling of the monument to Eliza Orzeszko in Grodno on 11 October this year, the management of the Grodno State Museum is preparing an exhibition of sculptural works by the creator of the monument to Eliza Orzeszko, Romuald Zerych. The museum has already received a number of sculptures by the artist, from Lviv and Warsaw, and plans to open an exhibition of these works at the end of this month. At the same time, preparations are being made to hold a posthumous exhibition of paintings by the prematurely deceased creator of the Old City of Grodno cycle, Zych Bujnowski.

As the unveiling of the monument is to be attended by the participants of the Congress of Polish Writers and Journalists, which is to take place in Vilnius from 8 to 10 October this year, in connection with the university festivities, the management of the Grodno State Museum intends to hold a display at the Old Royal Castle of a part of Countess Martha Krasinska's gift to Grodno in the form of the "Library named after Wanda Kuslovsky and Martha Krasinska". This show will be set up at the State Museum or, more likely, at the Castle. For this purpose, two rooms at the Castle, where the library cabinets and shelves are currently being installed, will be finished.

Some of Eliza Orzeszkowa's memorabilia will be placed there, including the manuscript of her novel Nad Niemnem, which has hitherto been held by the Society of Friends of Eliza Orzeszkowa in Warsaw. The library, donated by Countess Marta Krasińska, will then be opened at the State Museum for use by the general public.
