The painting depicts Elza née Sary Krausowa (1882-1957), daughter of Józef Sary, architect and vice-president of Cracow; 1st voto Łomińska, 2nd voto Krausowa in an airy white dress. She was portrayed by Olga Boznańska in 1912. Krausowa was an art lover and collector; she donated her valuable family art collection to the collection of the National Museum in Kraków in 1951. Boznańska portrayed her several times. One of the portraits is in the collection of the National Museum in Kraków .

State purchase for the collection of the Luxembourg Museum in Paris, 1912; since 1981 in the collection of the Musée d'Orsay,
