Report from Istanbul (PAT): On 26 November this year, on the anniversary of Adam Mickiewicz’s death, the committee for Polish graves and monuments in Turkey, established last year on the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic P. in Istanbul, intends to organise a commemoration at the house where the poet died. On the same day, a marble commemorative plaque bearing an inscription will be affixed to the exterior of the house. On the committee’s initiative, a monument in honour of Mickiewicz will also be erected in the Polish settlement of Adampol on the Asian coast.
