In 1903, the first monument to Stanisław Żółkiewski was erected in Żółkwi. The commemoration took the form of a bust placed on a pedestal with a centrally placed plaque bearing an inscription. The monument was destroyed in 1918. In 1925 it was rebuilt and unveiled again, retaining the original inscription: "STANISŁAWOWI / ŻÓŁKIEWSKI / CHANCELLOR AND HETMAN / GREAT CORONN / POLYGEM FOR FAITH AND DUTY / HIS FATHER / THE CITY OF ŻÓŁKIEW / 1903".
