Monument to Tadeusz Kościuszko in Detroit

There is a statue of Tadeusz Kościuszko in Detroit. The work was created as a gift from Cracovians to the large Polish community living in Detroit. The idea of the gift was related to the celebration of the bicentennial of the founding of the United States. The sculpture, depicting the national hero of both countries, was modelled on a model by Leonardo Marconi from 1889, intended for Wawel Hill. The work was unveiled in 1978.
