Information about the object:
Lychakiv cemetery is the oldest necropolis in Lviv. Founded in the eastern part of the city in 1786, it is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. It is distinguished by its high-class gravestones. Since 2018, the Polonika Institute has been involved in the conservation work of some of the tombstones.

Completed work:
The project is the first stage of the conservation work carried out at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv by the Polish Institute for the Protection of Monuments.

The first stage of the project consisted of carrying out full conservation and restoration work, with technical aspects, on four graves located in the immediate vicinity of the Dunin-Borkowski Chapel, the oldest in the cemetery, which is being renovated in 2021/2022. This is field 6, where the following are located: the grave of Waclaw Degel, Elector and citizen of the city of Lviv, the grave of Alfred and Józefa Kamienobrodzki, the grave of Sidonie Perrot, the grave of Wojciech and Petronella Kosowicz. They required full technical work: dismantling, pouring of foundations, stabilisation and plumbing, conservation of metalwork.
