Information about the object:
The Roman-Catholic parish in Lyśc was founded by Andrzej Potocki in 1669. At the end of the 18th century it was merged with the Armenian-Catholic parish that had existed since around 1728. The first, wooden church was built at least until the mid-18th century (the church was rebuilt in the second half of the century). The brick church, which still functions today, was built between 1834 and 1853 as a joint parish church of the two Catholic rites - Armenian and Latin.

The church is an example of a religious building with features of late classicism.

Completed works:
The aim of the project was to prepare a technical opinion ascertaining the causes of the dampness of the foundation walls and ground floor of the St. Mary's Assumption Parish Church. The aim of the project was to prepare a technical opinion on the causes of dampness in the foundation walls and ground floor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Łysiec.

Identification of the reasons for the dampness, the scale of its occurrence, the state of preservation of the ground floor walls and foundation walls was necessary to determine the technology for renovation of the damaged wall fragments, and to find an appropriate way of eliminating the causes of the phenomenon.

The implementation of the project makes it possible to save this sacred object, important for Poles, from total destruction and oblivion. It is planned to start the actual renovation work in 2021. The examination of the walls of the object has allowed us to deepen our knowledge of the technological structure of the building.

Funding: the Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage "Protection of Cultural Heritage Abroad".
