Information about the object:
The church and parish in Pomorzany already existed in 1483. At first it was a wooden temple, which burned down in 1674 as a result of Tartar invasions. On the orders of John III Sobieski, the construction of a new wooden church began, which the king equipped with ornaments from Turkish flags captured at Chocim and a bell cast from cannons - this one has been preserved in the present church to this day. At the same time, the king ordered the construction of a brick church, which was consecrated in 1819.

The church is built on the plan of a Latin cross, the arms of which form a two-nave presbytery and a single-nave presbytery with a triangular apse and a transept, in which two chapels - of St Joseph and of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary - are placed. The church is covered by a gabled roof with a bell.

2021
The task concerned the execution of a design-build and conservation project for the roof truss and the replacement of the roof covering on the church in Pomorzany.

In order to carry out the project, an inventory of the rafter framing and signature structure was carried out, and a construction project and structural assessment of the technical condition of the rafter framing and roofing were carried out. A conservator's opinion on the state of preservation of the structural elements of the roof was also obtained, together with sampling of the biological infestation of the structure and a programme of construction and conservation works.

All this design data will form the basis for the actual dimensioning of the structure and for the construction cost estimate.

2022
This task concerns the structural and conservation repair of the roof trusses of the chancel and sacristy of the church. The work will be carried out on the basis of a project carried out in 2021 with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It will include the repair of the crown of the walls with the conservation of the stone cornice, the construction of a steel channel rim on the walls of the sacristy, the replacement or conservation of the deteriorated elements of the roof truss, the laying of new titanium-zinc double seam sheeting, the replacement of the guttering with new titanium-zinc sheeting.
