Restoration of the organ by Jan Sliwinski from the Latin Cathedral in Lviv

It is with great impatience that we are waiting for the organ from the Latin Cathedral in Lemberg to finally sound again and for music to be performed on it - both liturgical and occasional, created by great composers. This remarkable instrument left the church for some time so that it could undergo restoration work in the organ-building workshop of Ars Organum Adam Olejnik in Głogusz near Świebodzin.

The instrument is a work from the 1830s, rebuilt 50 years later by Ignacy Zebrowski and then by Jan Sliwinski. A version of the instrument by the latter organ-builder, who in 1876-1903 ran the then largest and most famous organ-building company in Galicia, has survived to the present day.

The instrument and organ prospectus are currently undergoing work. The aim of the conservation, restoration and reconstruction is to restore the full functionality of the instrument, preserving all functional original and historical elements.

The general contractor for the work is the Monument Service company.
