Stanisław Sikora (1911-2000), was a sculptor and medallist. He attended the School of Wood Industry in Zakopane and the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, from which he graduated in 1938. His teacher was Tadeusz Breyer. Sikora was awarded and exhibited at many national and international exhibitions. He received, among others, the Silver Medal and Diploma at the exhibition Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne in Paris (1937), the first prize and gold medal at the International Competition in Arezzo (1965), the Grand Prix at the International Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture for the Grand Prize of Prince Rainer III in Monte Carlo (1965). In 1979, he created the first medal in Poland dedicated to John Paul II. He was the author of, among others, the Monument to the Poles murdered in the Mauthausen concentration camp, the Gustav Orlicz-Dreszer Mausoleum, the Swiatowid Monument in Copenhagen, and the composition "Poland" in London. From 1946 he lived in Saska Kępa in Warsaw. His studio was located at 28/30 Obrońców St. In 2000, he published a biographical book: "One Life".
