Biography:

Tadeusz Drzewicki (1909-1995), born in Lwów, died in London, Polish émigré activist, minister in the Polish Government in Exile. He graduated in law from Jan Kazimierz University in Lwów. He served as president of the Gasconia corporation. He worked at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Jagiellonian University. He was a member of the National Party. During World War II, he was arrested by the Soviet authorities and left the USSR with the Anders Army. He served in the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade, was Secretary of the Research Commission of the Ministry of Justice based in Jerusalem (from 1942), and worked in the Ministry of Justice of the Polish Government in Exile in London (from 1943). After the war he remained in exile. He was associated with Christian Democracy. He was a member of the Third and Fourth National Councils of the Republic of Poland (1949-1953), the Provisional Council for National Unity (1954-1962), sat on the Council for National Unity (1962-1971), was a member of the National Unity Executive (1963-1972), deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the so-called "Polish National Unity" (1972). Polish National Unity (1972), member of the Labour Party, member of the 7th and 8th National Councils of the Republic of Poland (1983-1991), minister without portfolio (1983-1990).
