Karviná commemorated the heroes killed in the fight against the Czechs.

On Monday, the day of the 20th anniversary of the Czech invasion, ceremonies were held throughout Silesia in which the population paid tribute to the heroes who had fallen in the fight against the invaders. Karviná celebrated this day with particular solemnity. In the morning, a memorial service was held in the New Church, celebrated by Prelate Biłko. The service was attended by representatives of the authorities, headed by mayor Kobla, Larisch factory general manager Ing. Olszak, representatives of local organisations, schoolchildren and numerous Karviná residents.

In the evening, a solemn ceremony was held in the hall of the municipal cinema in honour of the fallen Karviná citizens, with a commemorative speech by Mayor Kobiela. The laying of a memorial plaque in memory of the Karviná men who died in the defence of Silesia and the legionnaires who died on the Bolshevik and Ukrainian fronts and near Lemberg, which was announced for Monday, will take place on Sunday, 29 b.m. So far, 50 people have been reported, including a 15-year-old boy and two women who were murdered by the Czechs.
