The publication accompanied the exhibition 'And the heavens opened... the conservation and restoration of the illusionistic frescoes by Francis Eckstein in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul'.

The aim of both the catalogue and the exhibition is to encourage the public to become acquainted with the extraordinary skills and abilities of art conservators, who are like doctors of antiquities. It is a kind of invitation to get to know the behind-the-scenes of their work.
