Biography:

Józef Peszka (1767-1831), Krakow-born painter and professor. He studied painting in Warsaw under Franciszek Smuglewicz. In 1813, he settled in Cracow, where he became a professor of painting at the School of Fine Arts. He painted mainly portraits.
