Chapel-mausoleum of the Poniński family

Rectangular-plan chapel, situated on a north-south axis. The building is built of red local sandstone, on a high plinth. The front originally features a Doric four-column portico. The central part of the façade is risalitic. In it, a rectangular doorway framed by moulded white sandstone. Above it is a semi-circular skylight. Originally all walls were surrounded by a cornice. The corners of the building may have originally been accentuated with pilasters. The side walls are pierced by two circular and one rectangular window with a complete arch. The rear elevation is chisalitised, with a doorway on the axis leading to the sacristy. Above it is a semicircular skylight. A few fragments of plaster originally covering the entire chapel are preserved inside and out. Outside, marked rustication in the plaster. The roof was originally gabled.

Interior divided into two unequal parts The first part is larger, closed from the north by an altar wall. In it, symmetrical remains of doorways leading to the sacristy, from which there was an exit to the outside. Next to the sacristy there are two small annexes, from which it was probably possible to access the attic. At the entrance to the chapel there is a visible exit to the crypt, where there are the remains of coffins, including a child's coffin.

Time of origin:
1st quarter of the 19th century.
History:

The classicist chapel was built in the first quarter of the 19th century, possibly by Karol Poniński, the then owner of Czerwonogród. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Nyrkov. The cemetery offers a beautiful view of the Czerwonogród castle, located in a deep valley. The chapel, like the castle, was destroyed during World War II. In the winter of 1944, the NKVD deported the people living in Czerwonogród. The village was attached to Nyrkov.

Comments on the state of preservation and visible restoration:
