Parish Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Andrianów

Historical outline
Nowadays, the Ukrainian name of the village in question is written "Андріянів", which should read "Andriyaniv". However, in the past, Andrianiv was also Andreanov or Andrianiv. The onomastic clue, therefore, obviously leads to a name from the name. According to legend, it was supposed to have been founded by the Lithuanian prince "Andrew" at the end of the 14th century. In the second half of this century, there is also a trace of John of Andreanow (Joannes de Andreanow). It is known for sure that from the 15th century the village was in the possession of, among others: Chodecki, Kol, Mielec, Ostrorog, Wiśniowiecki, Oginski, Prota Potocki and Kajetan Skopowski, and in the 19th century Antoni Józef Lanckoroński, whose heirs remained owners of the village until 1939.

The church in the village was probably built between 1910 and 1911, with its consecration taking place in 1911. The pastoral duties were performed by vicars from the parish in Komárno, and the care of the building was provided by the St. Mary Magdalene Sisters from the same village. After the Second World War, Poles were displaced from Andrianów, and the Soviets closed the church in 1946 and turned it into a warehouse. The building was demolished in the 1950s.

Architecture
The church in Andrianovo was quite simple in design and resembled more a chapel than a full-fledged parish building. The design focused primarily on utility without focusing on ornamental functions or artistic aspirations. Perhaps it was intended as a nucleus for the creation of an independent parish church in the village, but we will never know.

The building was situated on the road to the village of Łowczyce. It was a brick church, plastered and built on a stone foundation. It consisted of a rectangular nave and a noticeably lower, narrower and shorter presbytery closed with a trilateral. A tiny rectangular sacristy was added to the chancel. The nave had no articulation. It was covered with a ceiling and lit by two pairs of rectangular windows closed with a segmental arch. There was a choir at the front wall.

The elevations were topped with a cornice. The façade was closed with a triangular gable topped with an iron cross. An analogous gable finial was located on the other side. The roofs were covered with tiles. The nave was topped by a gable roof, the chancel by a multi-pitched roof and there was a three-pitched roof over the vestry. A slight enlivening was the sheet metal clad bell turret. It was octagonal with an openwork lantern, topped by an onion-shaped cupola ending in a cross. The fate of the equipment is unknown.
